Meet Jeremy Mannix: Elevating Culinary Creativity

Carowinds is home to exceptional talents, and one such individual is Jeremy Mannix, executive sous chef overseeing the daily operations of the food program at Carowinds and Carolina Harbor Waterpark. With a passion for amusement parks and culinary arts, Mannix joined Carowinds in 2021. From his early days as a sous chef to his recent promotion, Mannix has consistently pushed the boundaries, introducing unprecedented dining experiences at Carowinds.

"I have been able to tap into so much creativity here and really push the culinary envelope, offering things our guests have never seen at Carowinds before," Mannix said. "I have had so much support from leadership to think as far out of the box as I can."

Mannix creates a fun atmosphere among his coworkers. They appreciate his passion for Juke Box Diner burgers and his humorous mannerisms.

During Pride Month, Mannix reflects on the importance of respecting others.

"Letting people live their lives and be their true selves won't hurt anybody," he said. "We need more love in this world."

He encourages others in the LGBTQ+ community to "never give up and always do your best." Mannix also reminds them to "never forget to be FABULOUS while reaching your goals."

Monica Pierce: Leading with Strength and Inclusion

In the vibrant tapestry of Carowinds, Monica Pierce stands out as a beacon of leadership. With 21 years of dedicated service, Pierce has held various roles within Carowinds, including her current position in the live entertainment department where she executes administration tasks, requiring her to spend time in different areas of the department.

Known for her fair and compassionate leadership style, Pierce understands the importance of inclusion and the value of embracing diversity.

"What I love most about my job is that every day is different and rewarding. I also love meeting new people," Pierce said.

Pierce's coworkers admire her leadership, describing her as strong yet fair. She believes that understanding people's differences makes great leaders.

During Pride Month, she wants people to recognize the importance of inclusion.

"We need to understand the requirements of inclusion by exploring the behaviors of exclusion," Pierce said.

She advises everyone to stay true to themselves and allow others to do the same. Pierce's unwavering dedication contributes to creating an environment where everyone feels valued and respected.

Michael Parsons: Spreading Joy, Creating Memories

At Carowinds, we believe in the power of happiness and the memories we create. Michael Parsons, area manager of ride operations, embodies this spirit wholeheartedly. A self-proclaimed "roller coaster nerd," Parsons' passion for amusement parks and guest satisfaction is infectious. He has worked as a trainer at Carowinds' One Team Center for associates and as a leader in admissions.

"Going to amusement parks was such an important part of my childhood," Parsons said. "I love being a part of a team that is as passionate as I am about creating those same memories for the guests who visit Carowinds."

Parsons' dedication contributes to making Carowinds a place where unforgettable memories are made, and guests leave with smiles on their faces.

For Parsons, Pride is about not just accepting someone's individuality, but celebrating it.

"I would encourage others to celebrate Pride Month by finding out what makes them unique and celebrating it with others," Parsons said.

He reminds future leaders that being part of the LGBTQ+ community has given them valuable life experience and shaped them into the leaders they are supposed to be.
