Content Creators
At Carowinds, we value our relationship with content creators, influencers, and other digital media professionals keen on storytelling. For media collaboration considerations, digital content creators or influencers should possess an engaged audience base and be ready to provide relevant analytics for verification. Our selection criteria prioritize the quality of past content over mere follower count. Applications will be considered based on adept storytellers with a flair for crafting compelling content.
Media personnel, including those handling videography and photography, must always be accompanied by a Carowinds representative. Prior arrangements through the communications department are necessary to ensure the availability of our staff.
• In accordance with Carowinds’ rules and regulations, “using cameras or recording devices where signs or announcements prohibit their use” and “entering into areas of the Park that are considered restricted or behind-the-scenes as determined by Carowinds management” is prohibited, and “video, still photo cameras as well as any other loose objects are not allowed on attractions.”
• Unauthorized point-of-view (POV) videography is prohibited. This encompasses GoPros, regardless of the securing device, sunglass-integrated cameras, and other compact camera devices. While requests for POV footage can be submitted, permission will only be granted to select qualified projects. Pre-recorded footage can be accessed in Carowinds’ media kits.
• Commercial use is permitted through the Marketing Department. Before use on any ride or attraction, Operations, Maintenance, and Safety will inspect and approve the camera rigging. Each camera device must be securely attached to the ride vehicle or its designated mounting bracket using at least two methods: bolts/fasteners, clamps, zip ties, duct tape, or a suction-style mount specifically designed for the camera.
• Unsolicited photographing or video recording that disrupts a guest’s experience or interferes with park operations is not permitted.
• While on an attraction the photographed guest(s) are to be participating in a way that is prescribed by the attraction manufacturer.
• During SCarowinds, photography or filming inside mazes or scare zones is strictly forbidden. Violations may lead to park eviction.
• Interviews with guests, associates, or vendors require prior coordination with the Carowinds' communications department.
• Unauthorized filming crews and extensive filming equipment, including tripods and external lights, require explicit permission for usage within the park.
Drone Policy: All drones (Unmanned Aerial Systems) are prohibited at (in) all Cedar Fair parks, including Carowinds. Any unauthorized drone(s) observed over Carowinds will be reported to the FAA and local law enforcement, regardless of its point of origin or operation. Drones may pose a potential safety risk and violate Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
At Carowinds, we're happy to work with content creators who support our park values and are excited to help tell our story.
However, we will not work with influencers whose content or personal activity:
• Does not support our park values (Integrity, Courtesy, Inclusiveness, Safety, Service, Cleanliness);
• Bullies, harasses or discriminates against other people or associates, online or in the park;
• Shows behind-the-scenes or restricted areas without park approval;
• Shares park insider information (including, but not limited to photos, video, documents or details about future events/attractions) without park approval;
• Actively spreads misinformation about company policies, programs or associates;
• Violates park safety rules, code of conduct or creator guidelines;
• Includes copyright infringement and/or unauthorized use of Six Flags' intellectual property;
•Portrays the park, or any other Six Flags park, in an inappropriate manner.
We believe in supporting inclusive and positive online communities and will review previously posted content when considering partnerships.
