Education at an amusement park? Of course! Everyone knows that Carowinds is the area’s leader in thrills, but did you know we also offer special school field trips dedicated to learning?
Carowinds partners with leaders in interactive education to deliver an impactful, hands-on STEAM learning experience and an action-packed day of fun.
Dates:
- March 15, 22 and 29, 2024
- April 12, 19 and 26, 2024
- May 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, 2024
Schedule:
- 10 AM – 2 PM: STEAM stations at the Thrill Zone, near Fury 325
STEAM Stations:
- SCIENCE: Biometrics - Fingerprinting and DNA - Students can discover the ins and outs of their DNA through fingerprinting and a lesson on the Double Helix
- TECHNOLOGY: Robotics Sensing Distance through Sonar - Using EV3 Mindstorm Robots, students can learn the power of sensors and sound waves!
- ENGINEERING: Electric Circuits & Energy Sticks - Using bulbs and batteries, students will be able to build their own circuit box and discover the power of electricity.
- ART: Water, Bubbles, Colors - Discover cohesion, adhesion, surface tension, and color fusion!
- MATH: Seesaw Lever & Balancing Nails Challenge - Students can visually learn the power of gravity, center of mass, and gravity at this station.

Carowinds’ Education Days align with North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia Standard Courses of Study as well as National Science Standards.
Meal and Drink Options
Unless otherwise noted, all ticket orders (admission and meal) must be pre-paid ten (10) days prior to your visit to allow sufficient time to process your order. Season Pass holders do not count toward your group size.
Admission tickets, meal tickets, and bottomless soda wristbands are non-refundable. No rain checks are offered.
Payment must be made via school check, money order (payable to "Carowinds”) or credit card (MasterCard, VISA, American Express and Discover accepted). Unfortunately, personal checks or purchase orders are not accepted.
All school checks will be processed through Telecheck for approval. If declined, another method of payment will be requested.
Chaperones: one (1) chaperone admission ticket will be given for every fifteen (15) admission tickets purchased, unless otherwise noted. Complimentary chaperone tickets do not include picnic meal or bottomless soda wristbands.
Bus parking is free. Bus drivers will receive a complimentary admission ticket when presenting their Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at the Group Sales building, located at the North Gate Admission Services window (does not include picnic meal or bottomless soda wristbands).
