Carowinds Finalizes Major Camp Snoopy Expansion

Two New Major Family Rides Now Open in Camp Snoopy
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – July 31, 2025 – Carowinds doubled down on family fun this season with a massive Camp Snoopy expansion. After nearly a year of construction, the kids’ area is now complete with two new major attractions, an augmented reality experience and various upgrades to enhance the guest experience.
“This season’s Camp Snoopy expansion is another step forward in our mission to make Camp Snoopy a world-renowned children’s area,” said Brian Oerding, park manager and vice president. “These investments add another layer of fun and adventure, drawing new families near and far and adding tremendous value to our Season Pass. The response from our guests has been amazing.”
New Attractions
Snoopy’s Racing Railway is a family launch roller coaster that takes riders through giggle-inducing twists and turns as they help Snoopy make a delivery to the camp’s mess hall. The ride reaches a speed of 31 mph in a few seconds on its 804-ft track, with two laps per ride. With the opening of Snoopy’s Racing Railway, Camp Snoopy now has three roller coasters, bringing the park’s total coaster count to 14.
Charlie Brown’s River Raft Blast invites guests to leave port and go on a splashing journey through a 415-ft river channel. Equipped with onshore and on-board water cannons, both riders and spectators engage in a friendly water battle, spraying each other throughout the ride. A ride on Charlie Brown’s River Raft Blast includes playful theming with characters, plenty of splash zones and water blasters that will get both riders and those on land wet.
With the addition of these two new attractions, Carowinds has added a total of eight rides to Camp Snoopy since 2018, nearly doubling its size of the kids’ area.
This year’s major Camp Snoopy expansion also includes a remodeled Family and Baby Care Center, enhancements to the park’s Camp Store retail location and the new Camp Snoopy Bird Watcher’s Club, an innovative augmented reality (AR) experience available only in the Carowinds mobile app. The app allows guests to use their smartphone camera to complete challenges and climb the leaderboard while waiting for select attractions.
