#CaroWIN: Guest-Driven Associate Recognition Program

Carowinds hires a multitude of seasonal associates to staff the park annually. Job opportunities are available in all park operating areas, including departments like rides, merchandise and games, park services, food and beverage, admissions, safety and security, and live entertainment. Carowinds offers many perks for associates, including discounts, reward and recognition programs, exclusive events and free admission to any Cedar Fair park.

Associate Recognition at Carowinds

Associates are the face of Carowinds and play an integral part in the guest experience.

Throughout the season, special events are hosted exclusively for associates. Events include exclusive associate-only nights, as well as associate previews for seasonal events like SCarowinds.

In 2021, Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, Carowinds’ owner, and operator, introduced the Purpose Awards. Throughout the 2021 season, 13 Cedar Fair parks collected internal nominations for full-time, part-time, and seasonal associates who embody the purpose: making people happy. At Carowinds, five associates were presented with this award.

In 2022, Carowinds began hosting quarterly awards ceremonies to recognize seasonal associates across a variety of areas. One of these awards is the Social Media Superstar, a new guest-driven award.

#CaroWIN: Guest-Driven Associate Recognition

Carowinds is excited to introduce the new associate recognition program, #CaroWIN, that will be completely driven by park guests on social media.

What is a CaroWIN?

When a Carowinds associate goes above and beyond to ensure a guest has the best day ever, it is a win. A CaroWIN, to be exact.

How to Recognize a CaroWIN

If a guest feels they have had a positive experience with an associate that satisfies the definition of a CaroWIN, Carowinds encourages them to share the experience on social media. Guests should post about the experience tagging @Carowinds and using #CaroWIN. The post should also include the associate’s name and where they were stationed.

Carowinds’ social media team will monitor the #CaroWIN hashtag. Posts from guests will be displayed in areas for associates to see as they enter the park. This will remind them that guests recognize and appreciate their hard work.

Additionally, the #CaroWIN program will be incorporated into Carowinds’ quarterly awards. The Social Media Superstar award will be given to associates who receive posts in this program. They will be recognized for connecting with guests in a such a FUN way that they shared stories on social media.
