Mark your calendars for four seasons of AMAZING with Carowinds’ Seasons of Fun! Spring, summer, fall, winter - every season offers something new for you and your family to enjoy. No two visits are ever alike with all we're bringing you this year. Take a look at what's new, and what may be new to you.
1. Ride a monster truck
Strap in for an adrenaline-charged ride in a Monster Jam® truck, explore real competition trucks, check out how they work at Monster Jam Garage, make your own Monster Jam® toy truck - there will be lots to do at Monster Jam Thunder Alley™!
2. Share a funnel cake the size of a pizza
This "Giganormous" treat is available at South Gate World's greatest Funnel Cakes near the Camp Snoopy pond.
3. View the Charlotte skyline from 325 feet up
Fury 325 has been voted the Best Steel Coaster in the World for four years in a row, and for good reason. Standing at 325 feet tall and reaching speeds up to 95 MPH, Fury 325 is the world’s tallest, fastest Giga coaster. And its lift hill offers a spectacular view of Charlotte.
4. Meet the Easter Beagle
We'll be open for two weeks for Spring Break this year! Check out Monster Jam Thunder Alley™ and get a jumpstart on our 2020 Seasons of Fun with all your favorite Carowinds experiences...including selfies with Snoopy the Easter Beagle.
5. Try blue ice cream
Stop at Granny's Ice Cream in Blue Ridge Junction, home of the Carolinas' first double-launch roller coaster, for a frosty blue treat.
6. Beat your kids in an extreme waterslide race
Opening this summer, Boogie Board Racer will be the longest mat racer at any waterpark in the Southeast. The new slide will debut when Carolina Harbor opens on May 16th. Don't miss your chance for some family bragging rights!
7. Visit another country
Okay, not really. But Grand Carnivale will offer up sights, sounds and flavors from around the world - and a nightly parade (see below). Don't miss this larger-than-life cultural celebration which runs a limited time, June 13-July 5.
8. Be in a parade
Every night of Grand Carnivale will feature The Spectacle of Color Parade, featuring extravagantly decorate floats and dozens of costumed performers - and maybe YOU, too! Each night our staff invites a few lucky guests to ride in our rider floats. Good luck!
9. Walk the plank
Ahoy, mateys! This six-story water slide complex will shiver your timbers. One of its slides, Pirate's Plank, sends you plummeting down a nearly vertical free-fall when the floor drops out from underneath you. Don't be chicken-hearted, take the plunge.
10. Eat healthy - really!
Grab a salad at Juke Box Diner, Blue Ridge Country Kitchen or Harbor House. At Harmony Hall's salad station you can even make your own custom salad creation! Enjoy a baked potato or burrito bowl at Carowinds Cafe or dig into some rotisserie chicken or beef tenderloin with a side of veggies at Blue Ridge Country Kitchen. You'll also find fruit cups, apple chips and other lean and healthy snacks around the park.
11. Catch a live show (2020 lineup coming soon!)
If you like live shows you'll love our lineup this year, which will include some exciting additions. Sign up for our email newsletter and be among the first to get new announcements!
12. See the world from a new perspective
Have you ridden Copperhead Strike yet? The Carolinas' first double-launch roller coaster packs twice the bite, taking you from 0-42 MPH in 2.5 seconds and flipping you upside down five times. It's a must-do for thrill lovers (but maybe save the giant funnel cake for after the ride...).
13. Celebrate summer at a block party
Dance to live bands in the summer breeze, challenge friends to a game of checkers while you sip a craft brew and sample some our special cool summer eats. Our Carolina Summer Nights event offers the best way to finish off your day of fun on the state line.
14. Dance to music only you can hear
At Carolina Summer Nights, you can dance like no one's watching while you hear music no one else can hear at a silent disco. Rock out to some summer tunes at the Carolinas' best Friday night block party.
15. Dig into some of the best pulled pork in two states
At Carowinds, we take fun seriously - and food, too. If you catch a whiff of hickory smoke coming from Harmony Hall that's our in-house smokers at work creating some of the best pulled pork, brisket and wings you've ever tasted. Add a little Copperhead Strike sauce for the perfect spicy finish.
16. Trick-or-treat with Snoopy
The Great Pumpkin Fest is our one-of-a-kind Halloween event for the whole family. You'll find play zones, games, costume contests, a pumpkin patch, a corn maze and, of course, trick-or-treat, all in one place to fill your autumn days with fun.
17. Face your fears down
Each year as Halloween approaches our theme park becomes a scream park after the sun goes down. No matter what scares you there's something lurking that will fill you with fright. This year marks our 20th anniversary of this annual Halloween event, and we may have some scary surprises in store for you. We'll keep you in suspense for a while.
18. Step into a comic strip
Now in its second year, Peanuts Celebration celebrates your favorite PEANUTS pals with themed activities, special shows, fun games, a petting zoo and lots of opportunities to meet and take the perfect selfies with Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang.
19. Dance with a gingerbread man
...or an ice princess, or Jack Frost, or...well, there are countless whimsical characters roaming the midways during Winterfest to make your night merry. Add in all the live shows, holiday activities and delicious seasonal food, not to mention the lavish decorations and more than 5 million twinkling lights - oh, and the nightly WinterFest Wonderland Parade and...well, I could go on and on about the magic of this unique event, but you simply have to see it for yourself. It's everything you love about the holidays all in one place.
20. Ring in 2021 in both Carolinas
Our New Year's Eve celebration is fantastic AND family-friendly. Surrounded by the wonder of all that is Winterfest, you'll ring in the New Year right with live bands, free party hats and horns, a special countdown at midnight and a spectacular fireworks display when the clock turns to 2021. Not sure your little one (or you) can make it to midnight? We ring in the "new year" early a few times in Camp Snoopy just for those who want to celebrate and still be tucked in bed well before midnight.
Don't miss a thing this year! A Gold Season Pass gets you unlimited visits, free parking all year long. You'll also get exclusive discounts, early rides times and more. Kids ages 3-5 can register for FREE Pre-K pass . What are you waiting for? Get ready to enjoy all the seasons of fun Carowinds has in store for 2020. We'll see you at the park!
