Autism Awareness Week

The week of July 8 – July 14 is Autism Awareness Week at Carowinds. We are proud to partner with the Autism Society of America to make sure we serve our guests with autism and their families. Carowinds provides special accommodations so that every member of your family can have an enjoyable experience during your visit to the park.

First Aid and Quiet/Sensory Spaces

Quiet spaces serve as a location for families to take a break and cool off. These spaces can be found at:

  • Guest Services (near the Front Gate Entrance)
  • First Aid (Carolina Boardwalk near Carolina Goldrusher)
  • Family Care Center (Camp Snoopy near Woodstock Express)
  • Carolina Harbor First Aid (Carolina Harbor near Harbor House)

Food

We recognize that many people on the autism spectrum avoid eating foods that contain gluten. Here’s a list of places you can find gluten-friendly foods in the park. You can find more information about gluten-friendly food here.

Carowinds is happy to offer sensory-friendly family shows, which are available daily at:

  • Lunch with the PEANUTS™️ Gang at Harmony Hall Marketplace: 12:00 pm | 1:00 pm
  • Franklin’s Dance Party at Camp Snoopy Theater: 3:00 pm | 4:00 pm | 5:00pm
  • Camptivities at Camp Snoopy Fountain: 3:30 pm | 4:30 pm | 5:30 pm
