That Carolina summer heat is no joke. If you're looking for ways to cool down in the park, we've got you've covered!

Catch a show in Carowinds Theater

Seasons of Cirque, ranked #2 in the list of best amusement park shows in the nation by USA Today's 10 Best, will have showtimes at Carowinds Theater through Sept. 2. Don't miss out on this amazing production!

Relax under The Arbor

This covered walkway between Celebration Plaza and Carousel Park is the perfect place to sit for a spell in the shade. Grab a bench and enjoy an ICEE or some Dippin' Dots from nearby stands.

Take a ride on Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare: 3Z Arena or Boo Blasters on Boo Hill

Want to beat the heat but don't want to stop the fun? Hop on one of our indoor rides! Battle with your team to rack up points and find the golden gnome in Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare: 3Z Arena, or take a spin on Boo Blasters on Boo Hill to hit as many targets as you can and capture the evil "Boocifer."

Get a meal at Harmony Hall

This air-conditioned marketplace is not only the perfect location to get a meal that'll satisfy the whole family, but you can also enjoy live entertainment! Have lunch with the PEANUTS daily or catch a showtime for cover band Spark City Swing Machine through Sept. 8.

Rent a cabana

If you'll be spending most of your day at Carolina Harbor, consider renting a cabana. Our cabanas come with umbrellas, a mini-fridge with complimentary bottles of water, a ceiling fan and more - they're perfect for staying cool throughout your visit.

Stop in a shop

One of the most convenient ways to beat the heat is to stop in a shop between rides. Be sure to check out our merchandise blog for an update on the park's coolest new items!

Eat some blue ice cream!

We would be remiss if we didn't mention the ultimate way to cool off - eating Granny's blue ice cream! You can find it at Granny's Ice Cream Shop in Blue Ridge Junction.

Summer at Carowinds is quickly coming to a close, as daily operation ends on Aug. 25 and Carolina Harbor water park closes on Sept. 8. Don't miss out on this final opportunity for summer fun - plan your trip today!
