Five Reasons We Get Season Passes Every Year

Butch Bennett

Butch Bennett is a longtime Carowinds season passholder. As an amusement park enthusiast, Butch is always on the move, but Carowinds is his home park. He and his family love visiting the park because it offers something for everyone. Butch and his oldest grandson, Michael, even visited the park 32 times during the 2017 season!

We’re a large family with me and my wife, three adult children, five grandchildren and a niece and we’re always looking for a good deal on something to do that everybody enjoys. But everybody likes something different. That’s where Carowinds comes in. Carowinds has something entertaining for every member of the family: big thrills, live shows, rides for the little ones, great food and a huge water park.

So Much Fun for Just One Price

The best reason to have a season pass is that you get unlimited visits. The fun begins in March and lasts all the way through December. Carowinds has something for everyone, from the new Camp Snoopy area for the little ones to Intimidator and Fury 325 for the adrenaline seekers. Sometimes, everyone actually agrees. We all like the Scrambler.

In May, Carolina Harbor water park opens and you can enjoy all the rides and slides as much and as often as you want. In the fall, your season pass gives you unlimited access to The Great Pumpkin Fest and SCarowinds. Then, just when you think the season is over, Carowinds transforms into Winterfest, one of the largest holiday events in the Carolinas. The fun really is unlimited all year long. My oldest grandson Michael and I went 32 times last year.

Exclusive Perks

A Carowinds season pass comes with a lot of special events and perks. Before the park opens to the public for a new season, passholders are invited to season pass preview night. This is a great time check out all the new additions and upgrades before everyone else. And we love Early Ride Time, which lets us enjoy select rides 30 minutes before the park opens. We can also enter Carolina Harbor 30 minutes early, which gives us a chance to claim our spot for the day and catch some select slides before everyone else gets there.

Our Friends Love It Too

Carowinds season passholders get bring-a-friend discounts on select days throughout the entire season. We also receive a 10% discount at most dining and merchandise locations and there are usually some awesome Carowinds T-Shirts that are BOGO for Carowinds season passholders. From souvenirs to food, we save money all day every day. For the music lovers in the family, passholders also receive discounted tickets to concerts held at the Carowinds Palladium.

Dinosaurs Alive!

Dinosaurs Alive! is a great attraction, and season pass holders get in for free. Life-sized moving and roaring dinosaurs are marked by signs that explain each one and you can even control some of the dinosaurs’ movements. Kids can also dig in the sand pit and look for dinosaur bones, and you can spend as much time as you like exploring.

Add to the Fun

There are many things you can add to your season pass to make it even better! All-Season Dining lets us enjoy two meals during every visit and we just show our season pass at the checkout. The food at Carowinds is a step above standard amusement park food, as the park has its very own executive chef. We love the chicken tenders and Sidewinder Fries. With the All-Season Drink Plan we’re never thirsty and FunPix gets us photos taken at the front entrance, on rides and other FunPix photo locations throughout the park all season long.

If you want unlimited family fun where everybody’s happy, get a Carowinds season pass! Once you have it, you’ll wonder why you didn’t get one sooner.
