Starting in November 2017, guests will be treated to another season of family fun with WinterFest at Carowinds. Complete with all the festive sights, sounds and experiences of the holiday season, this grand event is sure to become a new holiday tradition in the Carolinas.

Best yet, 2017 Gold and Platinum Season Passholders will receive FREE admission to WinterFest. In addition to the County Fair and four new rides coming to Carowinds next season, WinterFest is just one more reason why a 2017 Gold Season Pass is the best entertainment value in the Carolinas.

2017 WinterFest at Carowinds – Preview

If you’re the type that doesn’t like to wait until Christmas morning to open your gifts, you’re in luck. We’re going to give you an early preview of 2017’s big holiday event! Think of this article as a peak through the wrapping paper. You won’t see everything, but you’ll see enough to know it’s going to be awesome.

The Sights of WinterFest at Carowinds

Carowinds will be completely transformed into a winter wonderland full of enchantment and cheer. We’re going all out with holiday décor and lighting to provide guests with a completely immersive experience. Seriously, you may think you’re at the North Pole.

For starters, we’re adding a shimmering centerpiece to the park with a 70-foot Christmas tree – complete with over 14,000 decorations. Each night will be started with a special tree-lighting ceremony that is sure to illuminate our impressive skyline.

The rest of park will be decked out in spectacular lighting, giant wreaths, snowflakes, mistletoe, decorated trees, candy canes and elaborate props. And did we mention the lights? So, so, so many lights!

There may even be snow in our forecast…

The Sounds of WinterFest at Carowinds

You can’t have a holiday celebration without some holiday music and showmanship! That’s why we’re adding nearly a dozen live shows throughout the park. From live stage shows to traditional roaming carolers, WinterFest will kindle the holiday spirit in everyone!

The Experiences of WinterFest at Carowinds

We made a few calls and can confirm…Santa Claus will be coming to WinterFest. He’ll also be bringing some friends for the festivities, including his main squeeze Mrs. Claus who will be sharing some of her cookie decorating tips.

In addition to Santa’s seasonal entourage, we’ll also have an ice skating rink, Charlie Brown’s Tree Lot, arts & crafts and a holiday style menu featuring smoked turkey, carved hams and traditional treats. Fanciful experiences will be located throughout the park to provide hours of festive entertainment for families and friends.

We’ll also have select rides and attractions open during WinterFest. As to which rides will be open, a lot depends on weather conditions. We’ll be sure to announce a full list of open rides and attractions as the event draws closer.

2017 promises to be another great year at the place where the Carolinas come together, and we can’t wait to share all our new additions
