We are entering the last weekend of the 2016 season. I repeat, we’re entering the last weekend of the 2016 season! This Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be your last chance to visit before we close for winter break.

View Park Hours

The good news, 2017 Gold Season Passes are now on sale at the lowest price of the year. If you buy today, you’ll receive one FREE visit to SCarowinds or The Great Pumpkin Fest, valid any day this weekend. Pretty sweet deal, especially considering a 2017 Season Pass will pay for itself in less than two visits. Hurry, this offer ends October 31.

Next season will be yet another year of growth on the Carolina state line. We’re introducing an all-new lineup of family fun with the addition of four new rides in our new and brightly themed County Fair. Plus, we’re extending our season with a massive holiday celebration, WinterFest - which debuts November 2017.

The 2016 season has come and gone like a flash of Fury, and 2017 is quickly approaching the station. It seems like only yesterday we were debuting Carolina Harbor waterpark, and we’re already starting on next year’s new additions.

Carowinds New County Fair – Construction Timeline

We’ve got a lot of work to do this offseason. From Wings restaurant to Carolina Goldrusher, this entire section of the park will become the new County Fair and will feature heavy theming, new lighting, new storylines, new food offerings, new midway entertainment, and of course, the four new rides. When complete, the County Fair will become a totally immersive experience for families and friends.

With so many details and new features to add this offseason, our construction teams are off to the races. Here’s how we expect our projects to flow this offseason.

October
• Concrete demolition begins for Rock ‘n’ Roller (next to Dockside Fries)
• Southern Sidewinder is removed to make room for Electro-Spin

November - December
• Concrete pads are created for new rides

January
• Rides will start being installed, starting with Rock ‘n’ Roller
• Area development projects including enhancements on Wings, Dockside Fries and restrooms

February
• Queue lines and finishes on the rides will go in place
• Theming work and area development continues

March
• Installation of all ride will be complete
• Ride testing and commissioning
• Opening Weekend

There will be plenty to keep an eye on this off-season, including numerous other projects throughout the park that will make Carowinds even better in 2017! Be sure to check AirTime for updates, videos, news and behind-the-scenes coverage this off-season.
