Carowinds has an immediate opening for the position of Area Manager Food Services in Charlotte, NC.
This full-time position will report to the Director of Food Services.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, plans, directs and oversees assigned food and beverage operations within the Park which may include restaurants, portable operations, catering and special events. Works to ensure guest satisfaction, product quality and departmental profit objectives are achieved. Manages and supervises the work of seasonal associates to achieve departmental service, product and financial goals. Performs related administrative, supervisory, analytical and professional tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Themed amusement park or sports venue experience a major plus.
  • Exhibits a positive and involved team attitude to all and promotes positive relations through an environment that encourages open communications, trust, and mutual respect.
  • Demonstrated food service acumen to include institutional food service experience, knowledge of food production, sanitation, supervision, strong organizational skills, strong financial analysis and basic accounting.
  • Knowledge of North Carolina and South Carolina Health and Safety Code/Regulations; ServSafe Certified, instructor certification preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversees the operation, including selections, training, succession planning, discipline and recognitions of the rides and park services departments. Controls the performance and productivity of area managers and supervisory staff as measured by overall efficiency in terms of guest throughout and/or capacity and the completions of teaks and procedure in a logical and timely manner. All conducted with adherence to Cedar Fair safety standards and procedures.
  • Prepares and/or oversees the preparation of accurate operating plans and budgets for the Rides and Park Services departments. Monitors and take action to ensure operation remains within budgetary guidelines. Analyzes operating reports, making adjustments to ensure cost efficiency while maintaining operational and performance standards.
  • Maximizes the level of guest satisfaction, including consistent excellent quality of service, as well as park and facility cleanliness through operational monitoring and associate training. Reviews applicable policy and procedures making recommendations to improve service and efficiency.
  • Communicates and collaborates with Carowinds management as well as management counterparts at other Cedar Fair entities to review existing policies and standards, develop new procedures and standards as needed and ensure consistent understanding and application. Act as a liaison with outside contractors and consultants, develop and maintain working relationships with outside vendors.
  • Moves throughout entire area of responsibility regularly to maintain awareness of total operations. Handles and/or assists in emergency situations that may occur. Participates in Park Office of the Day program and conducts audits of other Cedar Fair parks as assigned.
  • Communicates division status on an on-going basis, including operational issues, associate concerns, guest complaints, special requests, losses, and provides any other relevant or appropriate reports to ensure maximum quality and operational needs are met.

Performs a wide range of highly technical and project management duties associated with the support of company networks and systems. This is a highly technical and professional position. QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs installation and maintenance of all network servers, supervises the installation, configuration and maintenance on all desktop, laptop and notebook computers. Implements in accordance with the best practice, high availability, reliability, performance and accepted security standards. Ensures all patches, firmware and regular preventive maintenance is performed routinely. Configures and defines parameters for installation or testing of local area network (LAN), wide are network (WAN), switches, routers, firewalls, servers, SANs, virtualization technology, D2D backup, load balancers or related network equipment. Documents and keeps technical documentation current.
  • Directs multifunctional teams, vendors and end users in large complex projects. Handles and manages multiple projects and tasks. Collaborates with engineers, system administrators, software developers, users and management to select appropriate design solutions or to ensure the compatibility of system components.
  • Sets standards for security, backups of network, server, and related devices. Develops, changes and modifies procedures regarding configuration of all vital computing equipment. Performs audits to ensure optimal performance, reliability and secure environment. Has primary responsibility to ensure all systems, all data types, software, hardware and configurations and documentation are backed up properly. Provides and create documented backup and restore procedures. Runs regular tests and reviews results with Director quarterly.
  •  Provides project costs, design concepts or changes. Evaluates current or emerging technologies. Makes recommendations and implements solutions. Use independent judgment and recommend solutions based on factors involving cost, complexity and time.
  • Maintains AD for efficiency and security. Changes safeguards and audits DNS, DHCP and other vital network services. Enforces, monitors and remedies security to meet PCI/DSS, Privacy and HIPPA requirements. Uses and sets standards for secure protocols like SSH, HTTP and SSL not allowing clear test protocols like FTP, http, telnet, etc. Responds promptly to disruption of service, communicating effectively to users, vendors, management and team members. Maintains, plans, tests and or executes disaster recover procedures for all systems, servers, applications, LAN/WAN hardware. Coordinates and leads teams and vendors in this effort.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in technical areas, monitors available hardware and software products from outside vendors and makes recommendations to management personnel in the use of such products. JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for installing and maintaining HVAC, Refrigeration and food service equipment ensuring efficient and safe operations at all times according to Carowinds standards. Performs related technical duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-2 years related experience in HVAC/Refrigeration maintenance work, or a school equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Must have working knowledge of the electrical field and good knowledge of the N.E.C.
  • Themed amusement park experience a plus.
  • At least 18 years of age.
