 SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Job Functions Summary:
Reporting to the Group Sales Manager, the Sales Representative is responsible for developing, managing, and increasing sales within an assigned geographic territory or business segment. This position is expected to meet or exceed specific attendance and revenue goals as prescribed by the Corporate Sales Incentive Plan by spending a minimum of 50 % of work time soliciting sales at customers’ and potential customers’ places of business. Remaining work time shall be devoted to furthering individual sales efforts through exceptional customer service and follow-through.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• Minimum 1-2 years related experience in the theme park, hospitality, entertainment or travel industry.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to pass a mandatory or random drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state or provincial law.
• Ability to pass a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
• Demonstrated ability to work in an independent environment with minimum supervision and deliver against set goals.
• Strong time and project management skills and experience.
• Advanced written and oral communication skills, experience in public presentations, superior spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as required by business and account demands.
• Proficient in basic business software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfortable with learning new software and CRM applications.
• Valid driver’s license.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develops, manages, and sells to new and existing accounts within assigned geographic territory or business segment through in-person sales and service calls.
• Manages territory/segment by spending a minimum of 50% of time soliciting sales at customers’ or potential customers’ places of business.
• Performs other work that furthers individual outside sales efforts including, for example, follow-up communication via telephone and written materials, planning and preparing for outside sales calls, preparing and analyzing sales reports, preparing proposals and other individual marketing and sales materials, providing tours of event and park facilities, and ensuring full account support to all clients with regard to marketing and on site coordination of events and activities, etc.
• Recommends new or different programs to meet the needs of each client including new catering options, ticket programs, or other revenue streams to meet the wishes of the client.
• Adheres to all park policies and procedures, including attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.

Job Knowledge:
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English at a level sufficient to conduct employee meetings; provide detailed direction to staff, guests, and vendors; and write policies, procedures, reports and other business related documents and correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

RIDE MECHANIC

Carowinds has an immediate opening for the position of Ride Mechanic in Charlotte, NC. This full-time position will report to the Ride Mechanic Foreperson.

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining and performing mechanical and cosmetic repairs of park rides, ensuring efficient and safe operations at all times according to Carowinds standards. Assists in ride electrical system maintenance as required. Performs technical duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1-2 years related experience in industrial mechanical maintenance work, or a school equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Themed amusement park experience a plus.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Driver’s license required.
• Ability to pass a mandatory or random drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state or provincial law.
• Ability to pass a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
• Must be able to read blue prints and layouts, technical manuals and diagrams, and policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work with tools, two-way radio, various office and shop equipment, welding equipment, hand and power tools, heavy rigging, machinery, and heavy equipment, which may include forklift, genie lift, boom truck, lathe, milling machine, steam cleaner, etc.
• Ability to climb and work at heights up to 300 feet.
• Required to wear personal protective equipment including steel toed shoes, fall protection equipment.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and overtime.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance of park rides. Installs, maintains, rebuilds and inspects hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical ride systems and components for proper operation according to Carowinds standards.
• Inspects and evaluates rides for proper function, maintain daily lubrication schedules, detects and investigates any malfunctions or irregularities and notifies supervisor of any safety concerns. Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs malfunctions using schematics, blueprints, test equipment and programmable logic controller diagnostics. Responsible for completing required documentation on check-outs, preventive maintenance, updates/changes, etc.
• Receives and reviews various records and reports including NDT, ride manuals and updates, ride blueprints, technical manuals and diagrams, computer manuals, operating schedules, check-out sheets, work orders, vehicle maintenance check sheets, operational downtime sheets, material safety data sheets, oil analysis, etc.
• Ensures rides are maintained according to manufacturers, Carowinds and Department of Labor guidelines to ensure the safety of ride operation and guests.
• Assists with various other maintenance work as required including landscaping, welding, carpentry, plumbing, construction, pest and animal control.
• Assists emergency personnel in emergency evacuation procedures, providing training to the staff, ride operators and technicians.

• Must have working knowledge of the electrical field and good knowledge of the N.E.C.

• Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs malfunctions using schematics, blueprints, test equipment. Responsible for completing preventive maintenance (planned interval inspections and documentation). Maintain lubrication schedules (grease, oil, etc.)
• Responds to trouble calls in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assists in parts ordering, maintains inventory and monitors to ensure operation remains within budget guidelines.
• Keeps abreast of current trends and practices in field of expertise. Makes recommendations based on new developments and trends.
• Assists with various other maintenance work as required including landscaping, welding, carpentry, plumbing, construction, pest and animal control.
• Adheres to and enforce all Cedar Fair policies and procedures, including attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.

Inside Sales Representative


Carowinds has an opening for an Inside Sales Representative in its Marketing Division in Charlotte, NC. This fulltime position will report to the Manager of Group Sales.


JOB SUMMARY:
Manages the inside sales client base through new business and existing accounts. Performs related managerial, supervisory and professional work as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Acts as department duty manager during operating season as required.
• Conducts appropriate research/data analysis to grow the inside sales business.
• Assists with general marketing efforts, lead generation, special projects and office operations.
• Supervises the daily operation of the inside sales team to ensure all sales calls, ticket orders, follow up and special day functions are documented.
• Oversees the hiring, training, performance management and development of part time inside sales staff.
• Coordinates the timeline priority of leads to contact for all segments including schools, churches, clubs and youth programs.
• Coordinates special corporate functions with various departments. Creates and organizes telesales campaigns for the entire inside sales team.
• Works in conjunction with the Corporate Sales Team to ensure all corporate ticket orders, contracts, deliveries and payments are completed.
• Manages the inside sales client base including: obtaining new business, servicing existing accounts, processing ticket orders and acting as a liaison between the organizations and Carowinds.
• Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
• Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO
policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
• Other duties may be assigned.
