The most wonderful time of the year is HERE! WinterFest returns on November 24th, as Carowinds magically transforms into a winter wonderland with spectacular holiday experiences to ignite the season’s spirit. The state line will shine bright with over 5 million shimmering lights and a 70-foot tree. Friends and family will enjoy live entertainment and immersive holiday experiences. This year, WinterFest is packed with even more fun than ever before with these new, exciting attractions.

Blue Ridge Country Christmas and Gingerbread Alley

Christmas comes to Blue Ridge Junction with the all-new Blue Ridge Country Christmas! You’ll feel right at home with a traditional southern Christmas themed area. Here you will find Ruby’s Reindeer Games, super-sized and over-the-top lawn games. You can also visit our artisans to find one-of-a-kind gifts, listen to the easy down home music of Christmas Bluegrass, and stop by to deliver a message to veterans or a member of our Military at Holidays for Heroes. And, oh what fun it is to ride rides! You’ll be able to experience Copperhead Strike AND Mountain Gliders as well as a selection of other rides.

But that’s not the only new themed area! At Gingerbread Alley, you’ll step into a quaint village of whimsical gingerbread houses and decorations. The people of this town are sweet…literally! You’ll never know what gingerbread friends you’ll find here.

All-new Activities and Shows

The already amazing activities and spectacular shows at WinterFest are about to get even better with these brand new additions. March on over to North Pole Excursion for the all-new 4 Drummers Drumming. These toy soldiers form a drumline and are going to crank out awesome holiday beats. While you are up north be sure to stop by for the Head Elf Training Challenge Course. We are looking for new elf recruits! This challenge course will produce strong elves and lots of giggles.

Don’t miss Blitzen’s Brass Brigade. This roaming group of reindeer will have you clapping your hands and stomping your feet to Christmas classics. Relax around the fire pits at the Holiday Hall Patio and listen to The Yule Logs. This talented musical duo will play favorite holiday tunes that will have you singing along.

One of our guests' favorite WinterFest shows, Tinker’s Toy Factory, returns with an all-new show this year: Tinker’s Toy Factory: The Christmas Fever! Join Santa, Tinker and the rest of the elves as they catch the Christmas fever and discover the importance of family and friends. In the mood to decorate? Head on down to Tinsel Town for Peppermint Patty's Tree Trimming. You'll be able to decorate your own crazy, wacky, totally over-the-top Christmas tree!

WinterFest Wonderland Parade

Last but certainly not least is the WinterFest Wonderland Parade. This festive finale to your WinterFest visit will be an extraordinary holiday spectacular filled with dazzling floats and performers from across the park. You’ll see a choo-choo train, gingerbread house, Jack Frost’s snow machine, Santa’s sleigh and so much more! Plus, there will be magical moments where YOU can be a part of the fun. The WinterFest Wonderland Parade begins nightly at 9 p.m., weather permitting.
