It will be another year of historic growth on the state line. When it is all said and done, the new Carowinds County Fair will pack just over three acres of family fun. The transformation will feature heavy theming, new lighting, new storylines, new food offerings, new midway entertainment, and of course, four new rides.

Progress is really speeding up on the new County Fair and the four new rides that will debut this spring. The months of November and December were mainly spent prepping the area. We’re now in the middle of ride assembly, which is when you can really start to see things coming together. Recent milestones include installing the Rock ‘N’ Roller and setting up the Electro-Spin.

The construction and maintenance teams are now working on pouring the concrete for Zephyr and Do-Si-Do. Assembly on these rides will start within the week. Keep in mind, there is still a lot of theming to complete on these new rides, so what you see in the construction photos now will change for the better upon completion.

New Ride Update - Rock ‘N’ Roller

The stage has been set for the Rock ‘N’ Roller, one of four new rides set to debut in the new Carowinds County Fair this spring. This traditional County Fair ride will send guests around and up and down in a circular motion while playing classic rock tunes. A vibrant lighting package will compliment the experience, making it a great addition to the theming and feel of the County Fair.

For the most part, the ride has been installed, but much detail and theming remains. Please keep in mind, the image below is a conceptual sketch and some details may change.

The Electro-Spin, Zephyr, Do-Si-Do and Rock ‘N’ Roller will introduce a new generation to these classic family rides and make 2017 another exciting season at the place where the Carolinas come together!
