Below is a listing of commonly asked questions our guests have asked in planning their trip to Carowinds. Should you have a question not listed below, please feel free to email us guestrelations@carowinds.com.
Best time to visit
When planning a trip to Carowinds, try to choose a date that falls outside the Park's busiest times. Lines are usually shorter on Sundays versus Saturdays. Weekdays are even better!
Dressing comfortably
Spending a day at a 122-acre theme park means you're going to cover a lot of ground. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring along appropriate clothing to keep you warm/cool as temperatures fluctuate throughout the day

ATMs are available at the following locations:
- North Gate across from the Thrills Store
- Carolina RFD beside the ‘Scooby- Doo Barn’
- In Boomerang Bay
- Adjacent to First Aid
- At the exit of ‘Awesome Aussie Twister’
- At Bondi Beach Rentals

Packing for your trip to Carowinds
It's best to limit the number of items you take into the Park. Park ride operators/rides cannot accommodate strollers, cameras, camcorders, purses, sunglasses or bulky items. You are encouraged to leave these with a non-riding friend, or bring along a "fanny pack."
Parking - remember where you are
There are 5,000 parking spaces in the Carowinds lot. Once you park, take note of the row number on the fence at the edge of the lot. This will help you find your car at the end of the day. If you have trouble locating your car, Security can provide assistance.
Park Map & Guide
Don't start your day at the Park without a Fun Guide - then set out to tackle every ride, game, show and shop in the Park! Fun Guides are available free of charge at Guest Services near the Park entrance.
Disabilities
A free guide is available at Guest Services for guests with disabilities. This guide is designed to help those with disabilities make the most of their visit and provide information on ride safety, group and individual discounts and parking options.
Baby Care Center
Guests with infants or young children should take advantage of the Baby Care Center in Planet Snoopy. Nursing mothers or tired fathers will find a comfortable rocking chair, a microwave and a diaper changing station.
Ride Restrictions
Some rides are restricted by height or physical limitations. To avoid disappointment, refer to the Disibilities Guide or height requirements listed on the park map, and check all signs posted at ride entrances to verify who can ride what...before standing in line.
Pet Kennel
Guests travelling with pets may take advantage of the Pet Kennel at Carowinds. Visit our Pet Kennel page for indepth information including pricing, hours and other general information.
Outside food and beverages
More than 30 restaurants and snack stands provide a broad dining experience within the park. See our dining options.
No outside food or beverage is allowed inside the park. Bags are subject to search before entering.
Camera Policy
For safety reasons, we cannot permit on ride photography of any kind on any ride other than the Carolina Skytower. Due to the potential for water damage, Rip Roarin’ Rapids and Whitewater Falls riders should leave their cameras and other valuable items with a non-rider or in a locker. Use of camera phones or any type of photography or video recording devices is prohibited in any rest room or Boomerang Bay Changing area.
Lost & Found Articles
Make sure when visiting to secure all loose articles such as glasses, cellular phones, pagers, loose change, cameras, keys, clothing, sunglasses, hats, wallets, etc., before you board a ride. All items found at Carowinds are turned in to Guest Services. If you lose an item on a ride we will search for the article as soon as possible. In order to keep the ride in operation an immediate search may not be possible. Please visit Guest Services to complete paperwork to ensure the item is returned to you if it’s found.

Inclement Weather and Rain
Rides will close due to weather conditions, particularly rain, high winds and/or lightning. A specific answer as to which rides close or remain open is not possible because varying degrees of inclement weather cause different effects on different rides. Those rides affected the most are the roller coasters and the high rides. Carowinds makes every effort to reopen the rides as quickly and safely as possible after the adverse weather conditions cease. Sorry, no rainchecks or refunds.
What does it cost to get in Boomerang Bay waterpark?
Boomerang Bay is included with the price of admission to Carowinds. Please visit our operating calendar for hours and dates.
Problems downloading Print@Home tickets
You can bring your ID and order number on the day of your visit to the Will Call window and a Carowinds associate will reprint your ticket(s) for you.
Can I use the coupons for my online order?
Coupons are only valid when purchasing full-price Regular Single Day admission tickets at the Carowinds front gate.
Will my Carowinds ticket get me into the SCarowinds' Halloween Haunt?
No, a separate ticket is required for entrance in to SCarowinds' Halloween Haunt.
