WORKAMPER PROGRAM

Welcome Carowinds Workampers!

Carowinds is located on the North Carolina, South Carolina border, only 15 miles from uptown Charlotte, with many great restaurants, museums and shopping nearby. It is only a short drive north to the Mountains or south to the beaches, as well as great opportunities to experience NFL Football, NBA Basketball, and NASCAR motor sports.

Carowinds Operating Season

Pre-season (weekends only) March through May
Full season (open daily) June through August
Post season (weekends only) September and October

Carowinds’ Camp Wilderness Campground

Carowinds Camp Wilderness Resort provides the perfect backdrop for your rustic outdoor family adventure! At over 55-acres, Camp Wilderness offers over 140 deluxe RV sites, 57 tent/ pop-up sites and 15 luxury cabins. Camp Wilderness is located on property directly across the street from the employee entrance. The Campground was renovated in 2006 and includes laundry facilities, restroom/shower facilities, swimming pool, lodge, general store, miniature golf and free wireless internet access. The sites are 30+ feet long & shaded with paved roads, water and sewer with 30/50 amp hookups. There are a limited number of 50 amp sites.

Discounted Campground Rates

  • Each 50 amp site is $175 per month and includes full hook up with all campground amenities.
  • Payment is due at the 1st of the month and is pro-rated if arriving or departing mid month. We request a 1 week notice if departing mid month, in order to receive any refund.
  • All Workampers that complete their agreed upon season will be refunded for the months of September and October.

Program Guidelines

  • All Workampers must be available to work difficult to staff days in any department regardless of your departmental assignment.
  • Workampers will be paid for all hours worked.
  • Workampers are asked to work a minimum of 25 hours per week per person.

Pay Rates

The pay rates for 2010 Workampers will be the prevailing pay rate for the associate position they apply and are hired for.  These range from $7.25 to $9.00 per hour, depending on position selected. We have many exciting seasonal opportunities available in the following departments:

Pets

Pets are welcome at your campsite and must be on a leash while outside of your unit. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their animals and handling them safely and responsibly.

Couples

Couples are welcome and every effort will be made to give similar work schedules and same days off.
